China National Offshore Oil Company Limited (CNOOC) announced Monday the company had successfully started up an independent oil field in East China's Bohai Sea.
The oil field, Qinhuangdao (QHD) 33-1, is in the midwestern part of Bohai Bay with a water depth of about 21 meters. It is producing approximately 2,000 barrels of oil per day via two wells, said CNOOC.
CNOOC Ltd holds 100 percent interest of QHD 33-1 and acts as its operator.
The oil drilled from QHD33-1 will be transferred to an adjacent field QHD 32-6 via subsea pipeline for processing, storage and transportation, said CNOOC.
