China Eastern Airlines plans to improve the quality of meals and will offer free dining coupons for passengers when flights are delayed, an official of the airline said yesterday.
"More seasonal vegetables will be at hand for passengers." said Ding Jinhai, an official with China Eastern. "We will provide more than three set meals for our frequent fliers and the menu will be changed every three months."
The airline is also considering building a canteen in the terminal. The airline may offer dining coupons instead of packed meals for passengers, Shi Xiaoli, another company official, said.
The coupons would ensure a better standard than ordinary packed food, Shi added.
As well as meals, updated information on flights will be provided for passengers.
There will also be extra customized services available for frequent fliers such as seat reservation and personal boarding. A database that involves the personal information of more than 3,700 passengers has already been set up by China Eastern Airline.
