Taiwan's most popular beer will soon begin selling on China's mainland after a 10-year struggle for access to the massive market, the company said yesterday.
Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corp expects to sell NT$2.6 billion (US$77.6 million) worth of its green-and-white-labeled Taiwan Beer on the mainland next year after the brand debuts in February, said You Hang-liou, assistant manager in the company's beer division. Only a trickle of the beer had previously sold on the mainland, passing through Hong Kong.
