A jet engine maintenance company broke ground on a new plant today in Shanghai's Qingpu District.
China Eastern Airlines and Pratt & Whitney, an engine maker owned by United Technologies Corp, jointly invested US$99 million in the company.
The new plant will cover 23,000 square meters and should open for business next year.
The company is expected to repair 200 to 300 jet engines a year after it is running at full speed in 2009.
