Yang Mi, Feng Shaofeng to join Painted Skin 2

Chinese actress Yang Mi and actor Feng Shaofeng, two stars from the latest popular TV series, "Heartlock Jade"("Gong") are set to round out the ensemble of the Chinese romantic fantasy film, "Painted Skin 2," M1905.com reports.
The film will be the first flick to feature them as on-screen love birds, which is highly-anticipated by their fans.
"Painted Skin 2" is loosely based on the 2008 blockbuster "Painted Skin," which centers on a love triangle that takes place between a human couple and a fox spirit. It has garnered about 230 million yuan (US$33 million) in box office receipts.

Reportedly, lead cast members of the first film, Zhao Wei, Chen Kun and Zhou Xun have already confirmed they would act in the upcoming film earlier this year.
According to Yang Zhenjian, art director of the film, the new film is neither a sequel nor a prequel of the previous one. It will revolve around a newly-invented story.
"The Butcher, the Chef and the Swordsman" director Uershan will take the helm of the film.
Shooting will begin on May 31.
