The Founding of a Party to film at Kremlin

The Chinese film "Jian Dang Wei Ye" has gotten an unprecedented opportunity to shoot in the Kremlin in Moscow, according to the movie's production company, the China Film Group.

"Jian Dang Wei Ye", which literally means "The Founding of a Party", is an artistic review of the early history of the Communist Party of China. The film encompasses scenes recalling CPC members attending the Third Congress of the Communist International in the Kremlin in 1921.
"It's unprecedented for both Russian and foreign films to be on location in the Kremlin," says a press release by the China Film Group.
Scenes shot in the Kremlin will also recall Vladimir Lenin's speech during the congress.
"We could only imagine Lenin's speech by looking at historical photographs. But still, we have tried our best to turn that historical moment into a motion picture," director Han Sanping was quoted as saying in the press release.

Russian actor Sergey Barkovsky has been cast as Lenin.
The film's planned release date is in 2011, to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Communist Party of China.
The China Film Group has assembled more than 90 celebrities to form an all-star cast. Among them, Liu Ye plays Mao Zedong, with Chen Kun as Zhou Enlai and Chang Chen as Chiang Kai-Shek.
