The frenetic enthusiasm for Chinese art shows no sign of dying down as prices of calligraphy and traditional Chinese paintings set new records in the autumn auction.

According to Xinhua, a rare copy of ancient Chinese calligrapher Wang Xizhi's work was sold on November 20 for a staggering 308 million yuan ($46.38 million). The next day another record was broken when modern painter Li Keran's water color --Long March sold for 107.5 million yuan, 6.7 million yuan more than a previous high paid for a painting by Zhang Daqian.
