Feng Xiaogang promotes landscape drama

Another type of stage performance comes to us from film director Feng Xiaogang.
The celebrated director is dabbling in the area of landscape drama, a new genre of entertainment rising out of many Chinese scenic spots.
Recently, an evening performance was given in Fangchenggang, a city in southern China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, where his landscape drama "North Bay Dream" is set, to promote the drama, which is scheduled to debut next year.
Feng Xiaogang summoned up top artists in the industry to boost his first landscape drama. Tenor Dai Yuqiang, pop singers Wakin Chau and Han Hong, comedian Zhao Benshan, singer A-Mei and soprano Song Zuying were among the invited artists.
"North Bay Dream" will center on the maritime hero Zheng He's voyages to the western ocean. His expeditions opened "the silk road on the sea", which had its starting point at North Bay.
