Inception wins Hollywood Movie Award

Christopher Nolan's new brainy blockbuster "Inception" was honored as the winner of the 14th annual Hollywood Movie Award, which was presented at a pageant held overnight in Los Angeles, the organizer said on Tuesday.
The contemporary sci-fi actioner was chosen by the public voting online at the Yahoo! Movies website as the winner of the most prominent honor in the event. Nine other popular films including "Alice in Wonderland," "Despicable Me," "The Expendables, " "How to Train Your Dragon," "Iron Man 2," "Salt," "The Social Network," "Shutter Island" and "Toy Story 3" were nominated for the honor.
About 20 million movie fans have visited the voting site and more than 260,000 votes were cast, Starz Entertainment said in a press release.
Tyler Langdon and Ariel King were selected by a blue-ribbon panel of casting directors from the Casting Society of America as winners of favorite male and female actors respectively in the " Hollywood Discovery Awards," which honor up-and-coming stars and filmmakers.
Several special honors were also presented at the annual awards gala held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles.
Sylvester Stallone won for career achievement; Robert Duvall, Annette Bening, Sam Rockwell, Helena Bonham Carter, Andrew Garfield, Mia Wasikowska, Jennifer Lawrence, Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake, Armie Hammer, Max Minghella, Brenda Song, Rashida Jones, Josh Pence, Douglas Urbanski, Rooney Mara, Milla Jovovich, Mila Kunis, Leighton Meester, Barry Pepper, Noomi Rapace for acting; Zach Galifiankis for comedy; Tom Hooper for directing; Danny Boyle and Christian Colson for producing; Aaron Sorkin for screenwriting; "Toy Story 3," directed by Lee Unkrich, for animation; Hans Zimmer for film composing; Wally Pfister for cinematography; Kirk Baxter and Angus Wall for editing; Janek Sirrs ("Iron Man 2") for visual effects; Robert Stromberg for production design; and Morgan Freeman and Lori McCreary for innovation.
In addition, the Hollywood Humanitarian Award was presented to Sean Penn for his tireless work and devotion to helping the people of Haiti recover from the ravaging effects of the earthquake that struck in January, according to the organizer.
More than 1,100 celebrities and Hollywood notables, including California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Starz President and Chief Executive Officer Chris Albrecht, participated in the festival.
