Courteney Cox earned millions of dollars playing Monica on "Friends" but it was Emmy gold she was really after.

The actress reveals in an Emmy magazine interview that she was hurt to be the sitcom's only cast member who never earned an Emmy nomination.

"My ego got really bruised. When everyone did but me, that doesn't feel good at all. "Cox continued, "There were certain years I thought, 'Maybe I have a shot,' like the Monica-Chandler years. But I don't know how it happens and why ... maybe I wasn't ready."

Lisa Kudrow and Jennifer Aniston were both Emmy winners for "Friends." David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry received a nomination each, while Matt LeBlanc scored three.

Cox's dry spell persists. Her new show "Cougar Town," was snubbed by Emmy voters this year.
