A shipment of copies of a Michael Jackson memoire bound for Gary, Indiana, might be stolen by someone who want them so badly, the book's publisher said.

A representative from the publisher, Vintage Pop, told gossip website TMZ that they sent seven boxes of "Never Can Say Goodbye: The Katherine Jackson Archives,"written by the late pop star's mother, to the home of a Jackson family friend in Gary and they were supposed to end up for sale at the new Michael Jackson monument there.

"But someone absolutely, positively wanted them so badly, they stole them right off the front steps of the house where they were left,"he said.

A report has been filed with the Gary Police Department, the website said.

The 150-page high gloss coffoce table book, which is dedicated to the memory of the King of Pop, features pictures on one page followed by a page of Katherine's thoughts and memories about her son.

Vintage Pop has sold 25,000 copies in less than 48 hours on June 23 when it began to sell the book online.
