The American action-comedy "Knight and Day" starring Hollywood heavyweights Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz will hit cinema screens worldwide on June 25, the Beijing Times reports.

Producers from the Fox Film Corporation released a new poster and image from the movie on Tuesday, and revealed that the two superstars might come to China to promote the film.

The movie is directed by James Mangold, who previously helmed the Sylvester Stallone classic "Cop Land" as well as the horror-thriller "Identity" and Johnny Cash biopic "Walk the Line".

Cruise and Diaz previously starred together in 2001's "Vanilla Sky," a remake of the Spanish movie "Abre Los Ojos" (Open Your Eyes). Their new movie follows a secret agent (Cruise) who goes on a blind date with a beautiful woman (Diaz) and ends up pulling her into a dangerous yet comedic mission to protect a powerful battery that holds the key to an infinite power source. As they flee for their lives, the pair crosses Europe, America and Asia.

Tom Cruise is well-known around the world as the star of such blockbusters as "Top Gun," "Rain Man" and "Days of Thunder" as well as the Irish adventure-romance film "Far and Away" and late director Stanley Kubrick's "Eyes Wide Shut."

Cruise played a secret agent three times previously in the hugely successful "Mission: Impossible" trilogy. It is rumored that a fourth movie in the series to be directed by "The Incredibles" auteur Brad Bird is on the way.
