It took eight years for China's first ever heavy metal band Tang Dynasty to release their third album 'Knight of Romantic' in 2008. This time fans will not have to wait so long as the band will soon take to the stage at Beijing's STARLIVE venue to release their new EP.
The big night falls on March 28, during which the 4-member band will reward their fans by giving out 1000 EPs containing two new songs to lucky ticket holders through a lottery, Oriental Morning Post reports.
Rock band 'Tang Dynasty' |
Tang Dynasty was originally formed in 1988 and rose to fame with their first major album "A Dream Return to Tang Dynasty" in the early 1990s when rock music started to catch on in China. The band's unique music blends traditional Chinese culture with western heavy metal rock.
The band is now busy preparing for their new album slated to be released in 2010, which is set to be distinctive from their previous work. According to lead singer Ding Wu the two songs covered in the EP are different from their other new tracks and it's not yet clear whether they will be included in the upcoming album.
