Tang Wei in her latest film "Late Autumn" [CRI] |
First portrayal of Tang Wei as a prisoner in Korean director Kim Tae-yong's "Late Autumn" was unveiled recently.
The actress in a yellow trench coat gives the audience very cold and detached looks from her eyes.
In the play, Tang Wei is an obedient, well-behaved prisoner on her holiday who encounters Korean heartthrob Hyeon Bin's role of a runaway counterfeiter.
The film about their short-lived three-day romance is an English-language remake of Korean art-house classic "Manchu," literally "Full Autumn," by director Lee Man-hee in the 1960s.

As a Korean-American co-production, the film started shooting in Seattle on Jan. 12. It is slated for release in South Korea later this year.
Tang Wei has previously played opposite Hong Kong singer-actor Jacky Cheung in another romantic art-house film "Crossing Hennessy."
