Ma Biao, former Party chief of Nanning city, was appointed
acting chairman of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Friday.
His appointment was approved at the 30th session of the Standing
Committee of the 10th Guangxi Regional People's Congress held in
Nanning, the regional capital.
The session also approved the resignations of former Chairman Lu
Bing, former Vice Chairman Guo Shengkun and former Director of the
Standing Committee of the Guangxi Regional People's Congress Liu
Qibao.
Chen Zhangliang and Lin Nianxiu were appointed vice chairmen of
the region at the session.
Ma, of the Zhuang ethnic group, was born in August 1954 in
Tianyang, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. He joined the Communist
Party of China (CPC) in June 1985. He had served as party secretary
of the Nanning Municipal Committee of CPC from March 2005 until
this month.
