Patrons of toilets in Taiwan's cinemas are being bombarded with non-stop advertisements for the multi-talented Jay Chou's directorial debut, Secret Cannot be Told.

Chou's movie, which opens at the end of next month, boasts a combination of romance and suspense, Chinese web site Sina.com reported.

The movie is expected to face great challenges from several potential blockbusters like Transformers, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and The Simpsons Movie.

Though he has claimed box office takings are not the most important thing, singer and actor Chow did not conceal his desire for the best new director award at next year's Hong Kong Film Awards, the report added.
