Sales of Mercedes-Benz vehicles soared 52 percent to 4,800 units
on the Chinese mainland and in Hong Kong in the first two months of
the year, said sources with Mercedes-Benz China Ltd. on
Thursday.
Global sales rose two percent to 159,700 units in the first two
months, while sales in the Asian and Pacific regions grew 11
percent to 20,200 units.
Sales of the Mercede-Benz S-Class surged 110 percent to 2,230
units in China, allow the country to maintain its position as the
world's second largest market for S-Class sedans.
DaimlerChrysler AG's Mercedes-Benz unit earlier reported record
sales of 2,700 units in China in January, a year-on-year increase
of 64 percent.
