Rules to Be Implemented on Electronic Waste
Adjust font size:

China is expected to "put into compulsory implementation" regulations governing the treatment of waste electrical and electronic equipment this year, the Beijing-based Legal Evening News has reported.

The regulations stipulate that producers will be responsible for the collection, recycling and reuse of their products at the end of their life, otherwise, they will be fined up to 100,000 yuan (US$12,091).

Starting August 13, China-made mechanical and electrical products will be charged an extra several euros to several dozen euros upon exporting to the European Union. The extra payment will be used by EU countries to recycle electronic garbage
