Fanny Rinne scored in the last minute to seal a 3-2 victory for Germany over China yesterday, winning them the Champions Trophy field hockey tournament in Amsterdam, Holland.

Rinne who also scored an earlier goal clipped the inside of the post, leaving China goalkeeper Pan Fengzhen helpless.

It was Germany's first title at the six-nation international tournament.

China opened scoring in the ninth minute when Fu Baorong passed to Li Hongxia, who finished cleanly past keeper Kristina Reynolds.

But Rinne equalized two minutes later with a diving shot from the top of the circle.

In the second half, China led again when Ma Yibo scored from a penalty corner before Germany equalized again within two minutes as Rinne crossed to Natascha Keller who finished with her reverse.

Tournament rankings finished with Germany, China, the Netherlands, Argentina, Australia and New Zealand in that order.
