The 28th International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE)
will be held in Shanghai, China's financial and business hub, from
May 20 to 28.
This is the first time that the ICSE 2006 is being held in a
developing country. Themed "China's Software Industry Integrates
into the World," the conference will provide a platform for
researchers, practitioners and educators from around the world to
present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends,
experiences and concerns in the field of software engineering.
More than 1,000 people are expected to attend the 43 symposia,
workshops and expositions.
By late April, over 611 participants from 49 countries had
registered to attend the event, with nearly half coming from the
United States, Germany and Britain.
Experts believe the conference will help to facilitate the
exchange and cooperation between China's software industry and
advanced software industries worldwide, and boost innovation in
China.
ICSE, a premier software engineering conference, was initiated
in 1975 by the Association for Computing Machinery, and the
Computer Society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics
Engineers.
