Four people were killed and six others injured in a chain of
road accidents on a highway in Guangdong Province, local traffic police said
Sunday.
The accident occurred at around 9:30 PM on Saturday at the
Dongguan section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen highway, according to
the city's traffic police.
The accident blocked the highway and was not opened until early
Sunday morning, traffic police said.
Meanwhile, a bus-truck collision on Sunday morning at an
expressway in Fujian Province left seven people dead and 14
others injured.
The accident occurred at about 1:00 AM when a passenger bus hit
the back of a heavy-duty truck in Zhangzhou City of Fujian Province
on a section of the Tongjiang-Sanya highway linking China's
northernmost province of Heilongjiang with the southernmost island
province of Hainan, said local traffic police.
Seven passengers were killed outright including one from Hong
Kong. Fourteen passengers were injured with three in critical
condition. All the injured are being cared for in local hospitals,
police said.
The causes of these two accident are under investigation.
