A symposium was held in Beijing yesterday to mark the 60th
anniversary of the UN's establishment.
State Councilor Tang
Jiaxuan said at the event that China stands ready with the
international community for a UN that adheres to multilateralism,
strives for common security, advocates mutually beneficial
cooperation and common prosperity, advances with the times and
keeps improving through reform.
A review of the cooperation between China and the
UN and discussions on further cooperation between them in political
security, economic development, human rights and social development
were held at the symposium.
Foreign Minister Li
Zhaoxing said China will continue to actively participate in
various UN projects and support the organization in playing an
essential role in international affairs.
China backs UN efforts on reforms in various fields
and at various levels, Li noted.
