Ten people died and 15others were injured in a traffic accident that took place early Monday in Shanghai's suburban Fengxian District, about 30 kilometers south of downtown Shanghai.

According to local news sources, the accident took place at about 6:45 AM on a road that is under construction. Shanghai's Eastday.com reports that one lane of the road had been closed.

The area has been shrouded in fog since Sunday. Reports indicate that on Monday morning, visibility in some sections was down to about 50 meters.

Investigation into the cause is underway.
