Senior CPC Member Punished for Corruption

A senior Party official has been expelled from the Communist Party of China for corruption.

Liu Fangren, former Secretary of the Guizhou Provincial CPC Committee and chairman of the Standing Committee of the provincial People's Congress, is proved to have received a total of more than 200,000 US dollars in bribes during his incumbency while having a long affair with a married woman.

Other punishment for Liu Fangren has not yet been decided.
