Elite universities of China and Singapore will launch postgraduate
and faculty exchange programs to enhance the two countries'
cooperation in the information and communication fields, according
to Saturday's China Daily.
Under the auspices of the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) of
Singapore, the computer school of the National University of
Singapore (NUS) and the computer schools and departments of 10
Chinese universities, including Tsinghua, Peking, Fudan, Zhejiang
and Nanjing universities, recently signed a memorandum of
understanding on academic and faculty exchanges.
"The cooperation between the two parties will not only improve the
academic research of the schools, but also provide more
opportunities for students to further develop their vocational
skills by participating in international cooperative projects,
China Daily quoted Li Xiaoming, director of the Department of
Computer Science and Technology of Peking University as saying.
