2008 Olympic Games Work Planned in Three Stages
Adjust font size:
Beijing has decided to divide its preparatory work for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games into three stages within the next seven years, in order to design jobs in a well-planned way.

During the first stage running between October 2001 and the first half of 2003, organizers will focus on designing specific guidelines for the preparatory work and perfect the leading body for preparing the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Another major job is to speed up infrastructure construction as well as environmental protection projects, the People's Daily reported on December 24.

The pivotal job for the second stage, operating between the latter half of 2003 to the first half of 2006, is to build and complete Game facilities.

During the third period that runs between the latter half of 2006 to the start of the Games, the municipal organizers will test on all the completed facilities, and check on all the other preparatory work.
