The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and the Ministry of Public Security jointly announced Thursday that passengers on the country's civil flights are not allowed to carry any cutting tools.

All cutting tools discovered will be seized by CAAC's security inspection department and the passengers intending to take these objects on board will be detained.

Other items banned from being taken on the plane include replica weapons, police equipment, highly flammable items, explosives, poisons, corrosive articles, radioactive objects and dangerous liquids.
