Beijing Police Required to Show ID on Duty
Adjust font size:
Starting October 1 this year, Beijing's criminal police will be required to show a special badge and their own ID card to members of the public they have dealings with while on duty.

The move is aimed to protect the legitimate rights of suspects, the Beijing Public Security Bureau said Monday.

The badge bears the symbol of the International Criminal Police Organization and images of a star, the Great Wall, the wings of a dove, and the Chinese characters for Beijing Criminal Police.

The badge is valid on when it is shown together with the ID card.
