Foreign Students Want Work Opportunities in Beijing
Adjust font size:
"China is the first foreign country where I would choose to work for it has the greatest career potential", a Japanese student of the Beijing Language and Culture University said when he was on a visit to companies in Yizhuang Beijing Economic & Technology Zone.

Over 150 foreign students from 25 countries of the university have reportedly visited this zone. During the visit, a Bengali student also showed his will to live and work in China for he thought China is a developing country with an economy growing fastest and better future.

Liu Liying, a teacher put in charge of the class, said that more foreign students, especially those from Japan and ROK, want to work in Beijing. More students have come to study in China and with them is an increased amount of foreign funds being invested in China. However, some foreign students also complained about lack of a network system providing job information and services for foreign students to work in China.

According to an investigation made on 210 foreign students graduated from the university last year, about one-third of them want to work in China.

Of the foreign students working in China, most are in exclusive foreign, joint ventures; others are in their Embassies or representative offices in China, working as advisors or anchorpersons on media or as foreign teachers in schools and universities. Currently, there are still some obstacles for foreign students to work in China, as the difficulty in applying for green cards in China, an incomplete-open job market, and only a few job choices and special job service institutions.
