The Peruvian tennis team lost the first men's singles to Canada on Friday, trailing 1-0 in Group One of the Americas Zone in the Davis Cup.
Canadian Peter Polansky defeated Peruvian Ivan Miranda in three sets by 7-6, 7-4 and 6-4.
Miranda controlled the first set, but he was not able to keep the advantage at the tiebreak and the same happened to him in the fifth game in each of the second and third sets.
The second singles was between Peruvian Luis Horna and Canadian Bruno Agostinelli.
The matches are being played on hard court in Lawan Tennis Expo, before some 3,000 people.
