Hong Kong idol Joey Yung has been invited to speak for an
anti-hepatitis campaign named "Hepatitis Free Generation," launched
by the Cheng Si Yuan (China-International) Hepatitis Research
Foundation.
The campaign aims to raise funds for the vaccination of newborn
babies in China. It started by vaccinating 200,000 newborn babies
in November 2001 in Guangxi, the most seriously affected area. It
will extend its work to other areas in northwestern China.
The Cheng Si Yuan (China-International) Hepatitis Research
Foundation is an independent charitable organization, founded by
the late Vice-chairman of the National People's Congress, Mr. Cheng
Si-yuan, in 1998.
It brings the top liver specialists from the Chinese Mainland,
Hong Kong, Taiwan and overseas together to exchange knowledge on
liver research, and to improve standards in the prevention,
diagnosis and treatment of liver disease.
