French poems and literary masterpieces will enlighten the
China-France Cultural Season, an annual exchange event that will
fall on April 12 in Beijing this year, sources with the French
Embassy to China said Saturday.
During the two-month event, Chinese people amoured with the
French language and culture can attend a performance of the Little
Prince and readings of the works of famous French poets. "The
activities are those with a strong interest in the French
language," said a French embassy official. He noted that with the
improvement of China-France ties, especially since the two
countries jointly held China-France Culture Year, Chinese young
people have become increasingly interested in French literature and
films.
The embassy official said, the China-France Culture Season will
be held in Shanghai, Dalian, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Wuhan, and will
include visual arts, jazz, classical music, opera, dance and
films.
