Government Complaints Website Opened
Adjust font size:

A government website specifically designed to receive public complaints about malpractices in various fields opened on Saturday.

According to Qu Wanxiang, vice minister of Supervision, complaints typically involve schooling and medical treatment with high costs and difficulty of access often being cited.

Other complaints concern inadequate compensation in cases of land requisition and house repossession, substandard treatment of workers in instances of corporate restructuring and bankruptcy, and wage arrears problems for construction teams and migrant laborers.

"People are welcome to report problems through the website," Qu said at the inauguration ceremony.

Qu, who is also deputy director of the office of the State Council responsible for rectifying malpractices, said the ministry and the office will investigate complaints posted on the website. The online portal will also be used as a sounding board for public opinion and to analyze highlighted social situations.

The website www.mos.gov.cn/gjb will carry examples of complaints and remedies.
