The TV series about martial arts master Huo Yuanjia, who helped the Chinese people restore their pride and nationalism while China was being invaded by the allied forces of the eight powers in 1900, was a great success in Chinese film circles in 1980s.

Stanley Kwan said a remake of the TV series, starring Hong Kong actors Ekin Cheng and Jordan Chan, began shooting last month at western China's Hukou Waterfall.

The cast members of the original drama, incouding 50-year old star Michelle Mee, will also team up with actors in the remake to promote the first Asian press conference for the new TV drama next Tuesday in Beijing.
