The Australian state of Queensland is preparing to host the annual G20 Summit in November next year, when 25 world leaders, seven heads of international organisations and 4,000 delegates will converge on the state capital of Brisbane.

QLD Treasurer and Minister for Trade Tim Nicholls on Tuesday joined a business, community and government group working to make the most of the G20 meeting for the state in 2014.

Nicholls said the G20 impact would be felt across Queensland, bringing economic prosperity. "Images of our beautiful state will be broadcast across the world and we want to leverage off the opportunity this presents. We also want to promote business and trade relationships with key decision-makers, so that Queensland businesses and the economy benefit from this event in the long-term," Nicholls said.

"In coming years Queensland is going to be the engine room of the Australian economy, with growth averaging four percent over the Budget year and the forward estimates."

"Queensland is the ideal place to visit, learn and do business, " he added. Endi
