The International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief Christine Lagarde will attend the Group of 20 (G20) Meeting of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors later this week to discuss key economic topics, the IMF said on Thursday.
IMF's Managing Director Lagarde and First Deputy Managing Director David Lipton will attend the meeting scheduled on Feb. 15- 16 in Moscow, Russia, IMF chief spokesman Gerry Rice said at a regular press briefing.
Economic growth, jobs, fiscal sustainability, completing the financial sector reform and others are important topics for global financial leaders at the meeting, Rice said.
The recent talk of the so-called currency war is "overblown", the agency's multilateral assessment does not indicate very significant deviation from fair value for the relevant currencies. The IMF will endeavor to facilitate cooperation of different countries on the currency issue, Rice told reporters. Endi
