Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi said Sunday that putting an end to the bloodshed and standing against any foreign military intervention in Syria are among Egypt's top priorities.

"Among Egypt's priorities is to preserve the unity of the Syria lands," Morsi wrote on his Twitter page, stressing that the Syrian people are heading toward freedom.

Morsi also reaffirmed Egypt's support for the return of Syrian refugees to their homeland, adding that "the Syrian uprising will go on to achieve its objectives of freedom, dignity and social justice, so that Syria will be a united, free and independent state for its citizens."

Morsi's comments come as Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is currently delivering a speech, in which Assad said the conflict in Syria is between the nation and its enemies, and there are terrorists in Syria adopting the ideology of Al-Qaida to tear up and weaken the country. Endi
