Syria slams Security Council over blocking condemnation of terrorism
DAMASCUS, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Syrian Foreign Ministry slammed on Thursday the UN Security Council's stance that blocked the Russian condemnation of the terrorist acts in Syria.
In a statement issued Thursday, the ministry said it was surprised by the stance of some members of the UN Security Council that had blocked a Russian condemnation to the terrorist acts that took place in Aleppo city on Sept. 9 and claimed the lives of 50 people while left 50 others injured.
The ministry was referring to a car bomb blast that had also destroyed three hospitals and a number of homes.
"Those members of the Security Council have devoted -- thorough their behavior -- the concept of double standards shying themselves away from sticking to a clear concept regarding terrorism," the ministry said.
It also laments this "awkward" stance in the Security Council, but said it is not surprised by some western countries stance because "those countries are overtly involved in supporting the terrorism in Syria and their stances have mirrored with no doubts their blunt involvement in shedding the Syrian blood."
