"Deeply moved by the measures, all of the Korean people feel that Kim Jong Un is the leader of the people, as great as Kim Jong Il," the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.
Kim Jong Un took special measures to transport fresh fish to Pyongyang and provide them for every local family in time, though he was suffering bitterer grief than others, the KCNA said.
The KCNA also said Kim Jong Un was "identical" to Kim Jong Il, who it said was the "popular tender-hearted father and the sun of the destiny as he is the man the people will follow to the end of the earth."
The country's official newspaper Rodong Sinmun issued a "political essay" entitled "Our Supreme Commander" on Saturday, calling Kim Jong Un as the country's "supreme commander and general."
Kim Jong Il died from a "great mental and physical strain" during an inspection tour on Dec. 17.
