An atmosphere of festivity prevailed in South Korea's southeastern port city of Busan as a handful of events organized on the sidelines of Asia's largest film festival amused spectators.
The second night of the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) was again abuzz with glitz and glamour as another red carpet event took place on the city's scenic Haeundae Beach.
Swarms of fans shouted loudly in exhilarated frenzy as an array of local stars strutted down the red carpet.
The much adored South Korean stars including Rain, one of Asia' s most popular stars, and Jang Geun-suk, an emerging Hallyu star, surely added to the excitement of the night.
On the Haeundae Beach, a bevy of activities that provided the spectators with a rare chance to see and talk with prominent directors and stars were held in the day and are scheduled to continue until the end of the film festival.
An event called "Chinese Night" was held, attracting many of those who work in the film industry and in the city to celebrate the festival, displaying a strong presence of Chinese movies at the BIFF.
In addition to a large number of Chinese films featured in the festival, big names in China's movie industry, such as director Tsui Hark of China's Hong Kong and internationally acclaimed actress Fan Bingbing attended the festival.
As a festival for not only movie people but for all, the BIFF will close on Oct. 14.
