Reigning champion Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark cruised into the third round of 2011 China Open after battling past Jarmila Gajdosova of Australia in straight sets on Tuesday.
The top ranked Wozniacki enjoyed a flying starting, claiming a 5-1 lead in the opening set after breaking the Aussie in the fourth and sixth games. The 34th ranked Gajdosova tried to fight back and broke the Dane in the next game, but conceded two disastrous double faults before losing the set 6-2.
After an early exchange of breaks in the second set, the two sides tied at 2-2. And this time again, two double faults from Gajdosova gave the 21-year-old Wozniacki an easy break.
The in-form Wozniacki then never left any chance to her opponent and secured all her following service games. After Gajdosova's forehand stroke flying far out of the baseline, the Dane sealed the second set 6-3 to make it to the third round.
It was Wozniacki's fifth straight head-to-head victory against Gajdosova, and the Dane is still enjoying an all-win record against the 24-year-old.
Gajdosova was bothered with too many unforced errors and committed eight double faults in Tuesday's match, while the defending champ only have two.
In the third round Wozniacki will take on Kaia Kanepi of Estonia.
