China on Wednesday appealed a World Trade Organization (WTO) ruling against the country's export policy on raw materials, asking to cancel part of the ruling in the WTO panel report.
The decision was made in a statement posted on the website of the Ministry of Commerce on late Wednesday, before the deadline to appeal to the appellate body on September 2.
In July, a WTO legal panel issued a report that supports complaints against China regarding the country's measures related to the exportation of various raw materials such as zinc, coke and magnesium.
The ruling was issued after an investigation on complaints filed by the United States, European Union and Mexico in 2009.
Chinese authorities have reiterated its export policy on raw materials was aimed at protecting the environment and exhaustible resources.
