Strauss-Kahn accuser sues New York Post
July-6-2011

The hotel maid in the IMF ex- chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn case filed a libel suit against The New York Post on Tuesday over a series of articles it published claiming that she was a prostitute.

The suit, filed in State Supreme Court in the Bronx, where the woman lives, claims that the statements of the newspaper have subjected the plaintiff to humiliation, scorn and ridicule throughout the world by falsely portraying her as a prostitute.

The 32-year-old immigrant from Guinea argues in the suit that the Post front-page headlines such as "DSK Maid a Hooker," "DSK 'Refused to Pay' Hooker Maid for Sex" and "She Saw Johns While in DA Protection!" and the articles that went with them were false

A spokeswoman for The Post said,"We stand by our reporting, and refused to comment further, according to local media.

The lawsuit came as a French writer, Tristane Banon, officially filed a criminal complaint in France that alleges Strauss-Kahn tried to rape her in 2003 while she was conducting an interview with him.

Strauss-Kahn, 62, was released from house arrest Friday based on the revelations of the hotel maid's damaged credibility.
