At least 20 militants were killed and a dozen others injured during a retaliation attack launched Sunday morning by the police forces in Pakistan's northwest tribal area of Mohmand Agency, reported local Urdu TV channel Duniya.
According to the report, a group of militants launched an attack on a police check post in the Bazai area of Mohmand Agency, a tribal area bordering Afghanistan.
During the attack, no casualties were reported on the police side. In retaliation, the police launched an counter attack on the militants, killing at least 20 of them and injuring a dozen others.
No group has claimed the responsibility for the attack on the police check post.
In another development, news just coming in says in a nearby tribal area of Khyber Agency, a group of unknown militants launched another attack on a police check post in the area of Bara Dogara area. No details are immediately available.
