Marco Fu from Chinese Hong Kong demolished former world champion Peter Ebdon at Wembley Arena on Friday, setting up a clash with Mark Allen in the semifinals at the Snooker Masters.
Fu, 33, dominated the match with a 4-0 lead before the interval and an off-colored Ebdon continued his misery as he made too many unforced errors before losing the game without winning a frame.
This is the second time that Fu advanced into the semifinals of the most prestigious invitation event as he beat Steve Davis, Neil Robertson and Ding Junhui before losing to Stephen Lee in 2008.
Fu is going to face Allen on Saturday as the Northern Irelander knocked out reigning world champion Neil Robertson 6-4 earlier on Friday.
The other semifinal encounter will be played between China's Ding Junhui and Masters debutant Jamie Cope.
