Macao's education authority has announced the list of 20 student applicants who received the government scholarships that will help them further their studies at top universities worldwide, the Macao Post Daily reported Thursday.

The scholarship was jointly established by Macao's education and Youth Affairs Bureau and the Macao Foundation.

The aim of this scholarship program is to offer more chances for local students to achieve their educational goals in Macao and other regions, the daily quoted Sou Chio Fai, director of the Bureau, as saying.

A total of 96 local students have received the scholarships ever since 2006, according to the Bureau.

Sou also said that the Bureau will review the situation every year to update the subjects that encourage students to study.
