Thai government announced on Thursday extension of the curfew for three more days from May 20 to 22, in a move to stabilize the country's situation.
The government's Center for the Resolution of Emergency Situation (CRES) imposed a curfew in the capital Bangkok and 23 other provinces on Wednesday, forbidding the public to go outdoors from 08:00 p.m. Wednesday to 06:00 a.m. Thursday.
However, the CRES adjusted the period of curfew to start from 09:00 p.m. until 05:00 a.m. in order to make easy public life.
The government troops dispersed by force several thousands of red-shirt protesters in central Bangkok on Wednesday but riots and clashes continued in Bangkok and other parts of the country. |
