Chinese shares open lower, below 3000 points

Chinese shares continued to slide at Thursday's opening after falling for the fourth consecutive day and slipping below 3,000 points for the first time in three months.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slid 0.05 percent to open at 2,985.21 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index shed 0.31 percent, to open at 12,008.96 points.
