A Turkish official said on Sunday that one person was killed and seven others including two train staff members injured in a train collision in western Turkey.
One train from Istanbul to Eskisehir on Sunday collided with another from Eskisehir to Istanbul between the towns of Bayirkoy and Vezirhan of Bilecik province in western Turkey due to signalization failure, Bilecik governor Musa Colak was quoted as saying by the semi-official Anatolia news agency.
"Engine driver Ismet Kocay, who was seriously injured in the accident, lost his life," said Colak.
Rescue teams rushed to the spot and helped passengers trapped in the railway cars, said Anatolia. |
