The nominees for the 2010 Grammy Awards were announced on Wednesday night in Los Angeles and Beyonce leads the field with ten nominations for her breakthrough album "I am...Sasha, Fierce".
Following Beyonce was country pop sensation Taylor Swift, who earned eight nods with her sophomore CD "Fearless", the bestselling record in the U.S. in 2009. Hip-hop group The Black Eyed Peas, R&B singer Maxwell and Kanye West each grabbed six nomination.
The two top nominees will compete in the heavyweight Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Record of the Year categories with Lady Gaga, who was nominated for five honors with her debut album "The Fame".
Also winning five nominations were DJ David Guetta and rapper Jay-Z.
Other notable nominees include pop songstress Colbie Caillat, Michael Giacchino, rising rock band Kings of Leon, John Newton, Lady Gaga's producer RedOne, rock veteran Bruce Springsteen, T-Pain and country singer Keith Urban, each nominated for four awards.
It's the second time in Grammy history to televise the nominations concert at a prime time.
The 52th Grammy Awards ceremony will take place on January 31 of 2010 in the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
